Commander-in-She partnered with the Hartford-based Untapped Potential, helping women who have opted out of the workforce to raise families with the skills and confidence necessary to get back in.  We doled out the workbooks to get participants working on encapsulating their backstory and positively describing their attributes and future plans!

find the power in your story

“Find the Power in Your Story: Storytelling Strategies for Success” was the theme for AETNA’s women’s employee resource group “WISE” (Women Inspiring Success and Excellence) gathering on January 11th.  Participants joined live in Hartford, CT or via video streaming in Blue Bell, PA and Arizona to learn how to use a writer’s Character Sketch to better present themselves, identify the Frustrations that can take them off-course and use Flash-Forward techniques to create plot points for a successful Next Chapter.

Commander-in-She closed out its year-long partnership with WICT New England’s mentor program with a third visit with participants on December 13th.  Mezcal Tequila Cantina in Worcester, MA was the celebratory setting as we closed out this chapter and looked ahead to the stories we’ll create in 2018.

December 7th was Commander-in-She’s first public workshop at the beautiful Storyteller’s Cottage in Simsbury, CT.  Participants were given personal journals to take a deep dive into the personal characteristics and plot points necessary to make the elements of their future story a page-turner in 2018.

What’s Your Story?

On November 16th, Commander-in-She joined the women of Fox Sports – YES Network to discuss how to take command of the plot twists we encounter in our daily work.

“The Art of the Ask: Storytelling Strategies for Negotiation” – an exclusive member-only breakfast event for WISE NYC Metro.  #WISE Works!

Communicate Across Generations:

It was “What’s Your Story: Pop Quiz style” – a “multi-perspectivity” storytelling workshop for WICT New England‘s conference: “Millennial Minds; Part 2: Learning to Navigate through Multi-Generational Workplaces.”  70 participants competed as teams to earn top prize in this multi-exercise, fast-paced format!

Cultivate Change:

Commander-in-She led a presentation to a terrific group of 150+ attendees at MassMutual‘s Women’s Leadership Business Resource Group.  The program ran in front of a live audience in Springfield, MA and was live-streamed to offices in Enfield, CT and Phoenix, AZ, along with individual participants  via desktop.
