Instead of trying to categorize us by checking a single box, why not just let us be who we are?
If, like me, you’re prone to want continual improvement, you might make up stories that suggest you aren’t good enough to begin with.
If you build it, they will come. But if you don’t maintain it, they’re not going to stick around.
If you’re trying to hedge against potential rejection or ridicule, why would you spoon feed your audience the very things you were hoping to avoid?
Aren’t we supposed to LEAN IN, ASK for what we’re worth, INSIST on a seat at the table, be BRAVE and SPEAK UP?
Time to trash stinky thoughts and order up a better narrative.
It may feel at times like you are stuck in one place or slipping behind. But as you peak at the peaks ahead, don’t forget to take sight of how far you’ve already come.
Why keep re-reading an old or outdated chapter when you can build a new one?
We know the things we should do to reach our goals but we just don’t do them. Isn’t it peculiar, how we do that?
Get off the merry-go-round of misery and make some (micro) progress towards those goals.
